SECTIONWhat to Check for a Day Visit

  • Bathing hours

  • Current-day fees

  • Alternating bath assignment

  • Sauna types

  • Private-bath availability

  • Meal-service hours

SECTIONMain Features

Open-air baths, indoor baths, saunas, and other facilities are listed, and the bath areas alternate between men and women by day. If you want a particular facility, check the official calendar.

SECTIONTowels and What to Bring

Rental and purchase options are listed, but fees and stock may change. Bringing a change of clothes, towel, skin-care items, and a bag for wet belongings can be useful.

SECTIONCombine Your Visit with a Meal

The hours when meals are available inside the facility may differ from the onsen's bathing hours. If you plan to eat lunch or dinner, check the last order time or meal service hours.

Places Easy to Combine with the Onsen

  • Roadside station and Re・Cord Museum

  • Thoroughbred Ginza

  • A stay at BASE NIIKAPPU

Allow Time Before and After Bathing

Bathing alone may take about 60–90 minutes, but you also need time for check-in, changing, drying your hair, and resting. After horseback riding or sports, rehydrate and let your body temperature settle rather than rushing into a long sauna session.

Do Not Choose by Facility Name Alone When Baths Rotate

The Japanese-style and Western-style baths and saunas rotate by day, so check the calendar if you want a particular facility. Views and crowd levels also change with the weather and time of day, so no specific view can be guaranteed.

Reserve a Private Bath by Explaining Your Needs

For small children, older guests, or anyone who needs assistance, explain the reason for use and group size, and confirm the available time, bathing fee, and amenities. Do not assume same-day availability; if you need a particular time, reserving in advance is the safer plan.

SECTIONPlan a Day-Use Bath Backward from What Comes Before and After

After arriving at the onsen, you need time for check-in, changing, bathing, and drying your hair. If dinner or lodging check-in follows, plan backward from the time you can actually leave the facility rather than from the time you intend to finish bathing.

PurposeWhat to Include in the Time Plan
Bathing onlyCheck-in, changing, and rehydration
Sauna useRest, physical condition, and the rotating facilities
With childrenChanging, hair washing, restroom use, and supervision
Meal and bathingMeal-service hours and crowding
Private bathReservation time, regular bathing fee, and departure time

Do Not Push Yourself When You Are Unwell

Long-distance travel, exercise, or alcohol can increase the physical burden of bathing or using a sauna. Drink water, avoid using the facilities if you feel unwell, and follow the facility's safety guidance.

SECTIONCheck in Advance for Large Groups Arriving Together

When many people arrive at once, the check-in area, changing areas, and washbasins may become crowded. If a training camp or group plans to stop by, discuss the number of people, arrival time, bus use, and meal plans in advance.

SECTIONExample Time Allocation for a 90-Minute Visit

TimeActivity
0–15 minCheck-in, changing, and rehydration
15–60 minBathing, with breaks as needed
60–80 minChange and dry your hair
80–90 minRest, check belongings, and prepare to leave

Allow even more time if you plan to use a sauna, travel with children, or eat a meal. Avoid a schedule that forces you to rush your bath just to make the next appointment.

Rest Before Driving After Bathing

Immediately after an onsen or sauna, you may feel overheated or sleepy. Rehydrate and check how you feel before driving. If you have a long drive ahead, include rest time in the itinerary as well as bathing time.
